Commissions
I encourage questions regarding commissions. Message me at tedwoodworksms@gmail.com, say what you have in mind, and I’ll contact you soon. Although I possess a wide array of fixit/carpentry skills and the necessary tools, I limit my concerns these days almost exclusively to fine woodworking – that is, objects of mostly Aesthetic interest rather than objects of mostly Utilitarian concern. No more decks or shelf units for me, no more window replacements or re-aligning doors. However, need an exquisite keepsake box for a beloved grandchild? an especially interesting coffee table? or bedside stand you’ll pass on? Then yes, contact me soon!
The caveat: all of my designs are original. I will not follow plans for an object you found online, nor attempt to reproduce something you saw in a magazine or elsewhere.
Yes to: unique projects, small works of art, tables, boxes, bedside stands, etc.
No to: Bookshelves, decks, windows, door work–more commercial style carpentry
Pricing
We will talk about what you want/need, and if we agree upon a general plan, then I will draw up a contract with a price and payment schedule. Each project is unique and requires an evaluation of time and resources. The price at the outset will be the final price, except in rare cases where more materials are needed. I do not punch the clock and run up a bill. Satisfaction guaranteed.
